Do Nootropics Have Side Effects? Well. Everything Does.

A major point I think is worth making around the world of nootropics, is that most compounds, taken without co-factors, in a sub-optimal dose for your brain chemistry, can have side effects.

But you know what else has side effects?

  1. Tylenol
  2. Aspirin
  3. Alcohol
  4. Caffeine
  5. Over-eating
  6. Over-training
  7. Over-sleeping
  8. Magnesium
  9. Vitamins B1, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, B12
  10. Vitamin C

And virtually every other nutraceutical, vitamin, and especially pharma drugs. The fact is, the question of side effects is dose and co-factor dependent.

I can take 1500MG of Oxiracetam, with 300MG of Choline Bitartrate, and run into side effects (like spaciness, brain fog, or other), because 1500MG is too much for me.

But, if I take the racetam down to between 500-700MG, I get great results. Who knew! Well, I did, because whether or not a nootropic gives you side effects, is dose and co-factor dependent.

Taking Oxiracetam with 300MG of Alpha GPC = side effects.
Taking Oxiracetam with 500MG of CDP Choline = side effects.
Taking Oxiracetam with 200MG of Choline Bitartrate = side effects.
But taking Oxiracetam with 300MG of Choline Bitartrate = my sweet spot, and a wonderful experience.

I experience this with Adrafinil too.

My Adrafinil dosage is low. I’ve tried 300MG, which would be the equivalent to 100MG of Modafinil, and it’s a bit too strong for me. The first dose w/ those numbers was fine, but subsequent doses turned up the anxiety for me.

So what did I do? I took the dose down to 150MG, which is the equivalent to 50MG of Modafinil, and boom, that was my sweet spot.

I also noticed, that if I do take 300MG, I can tone down the bit of anxiety I might get from the compound, by taking 300MG of L-Theanine with it.

Moral of the story: With the wrong dose of Adrafinil, I get side effects. With the right dose, it’s a smooth ride of great functionality and improved focus.

And the same is true for a variety of other nootropic compounds. Most actually. I see this all of the time in the various online nootropics communities.

I see side effects with virtually every nootropic compound. And I also see great experiences with virtually every nootropic compound.

So, in light of all of this, I decided to make a video on the topic, because it really does require some in depth examples, and clarification. Enjoy!!
