CNP #11: Ashwagandha: The Mother of Herbal Nootropics

In this episode of the Cortex nootropics podcast, we’re going deep into one of my favorite nootropic herbs, Ashwagandha.

I classify this herb as a nootropic for it’s acetylcholinesterase inhibition properties, as well as its ability to optimize GABA receptors for better brain functioning and a calmer sense of being.

I started fussing with this great herb years ago and it has been a lifesaver in a number of instances. It helps me sleep better, function more optimally, and focus more. I can’t say enough good things about this herb.

In this podcast, we’ll talk about:

  1. Where you can get Ashwagandha.
  2. Ashwagandha doses (both on the low and high end).
  3. How Ashwagandha effects me.
  4. Ashwagandha’s effects on optimizing sleep.
  5. Ashwagandha and Cortisol.
  6. Ashwagandha and GABA receptors.
  7. The cholinergic properties of Ashwagandha.

The best source for information around Ashwagandha is the Examine.com website, found here.
